BS in marine engineering technology
- What made you want to work at sea?
Travel and routine. It’s super structured. Also, they’re no real outside distractions as the days go by.

Taiwan, Galapagos, and Antarctica.
- How do you cope with being away from your family at sea?
Well, it’s what I like to do. I always let them know I’m always going to come back home.
- Do you plan on having a family in the future? If so, will you still be considering working at sea?
Yes, once I have a family I will be looking for a land job. But that will be no time soon.
- What makes you happy?
Traveling, that’s one remarkable thing about this job. You have about 3-4 months at sea going from coast to coast. Also, I like traveling in groups! During my off-time colleagues of mine will be like “hey I’m getting off in Hong Kong lets meet up”!
- What do you love about Scripps?
They really care about the environment. I’ve done some internships that seemed not so environmentally cautious.
