Mark Boher is the Chief Engineer on R/V Oceanus, licensed with ocean vessels at a maximum of 5000 horsepower. Mark was born and raised in San Diego, CA but lives in Seattle, WA. Mark’s father is a Navy veteran and was also an engineer. Mark had a very close relationship with his father which influenced his decision to become an ocean engineer. From the age of 19, straight out of high school, he has been a ship engineer. Mark had an interest in music and spent five years of his life as an Audio Engineer. Aside from being an engineer, his favorite music is rock n roll. Mark loves spending time with his four sons and he does activities with them like snowboarding, mountain biking, RC car racing, and shooting. His favorite foods are tacos, Italian food, and spicy food. Although he is divorced, Mark manages to maintain a healthy relationship with his ex-wife. Mark is a humble man who is full of chivalry, compassion, maturity and respect. Mark has been through many remarkable experiences from raising his children into gentlemen to potentially saving his crew from a burning trashcan in his last ship the Lillian. In the end Mark gave us a wise quote along the lines of, “If someone can take the hand you were dealt with and win with it, then you can win with that same hand too!”
