by I’ve never eaten better, than living on the RV Thompson. Every kind of food imaginable is made by the mess staff. Which is only one person for breakfast and two for lunch and dinner. Coming from a restaurant that needs 6 people to feed a private dinner party, the ratio of people to quality is incomparable. From masala to pea soup to roasted chicken to French toast, anything and everything. Even the eggs, which would be much cheaper from a box, are made from real eggs. At least. I think. Honestly the fact that coffee is available 24/7 would be good enough for me.
Going on a trip through the pacific was by far the most unintentional expedition I’ve ever undertaken, but an experience that I’m eternally grateful for. Originally I applied on a whim, having no real experience with oceanography or marine biology, or even any real boating experience. But this has exceeded any expectations I might have had on land. The entire crew ( not just the kitchen staff) has been absolutely wonderful, and I recommend STEMSEAS to anyone, if only to drink coffee on the ocean.
